ZAK MEISTER IS A MULTIMEDIA ARTIST WHO SPECIALIZES IN HIP HoP, podcasting, AND All Things film. HE WAS BORN AND RAISED IN VENTURA CALIFORNIA AND GREW UP WITH A FieRCE PASSION FOR TELEVISION AND MUSIC. AT FIFTEEN HE BEGAN RAPPING AND BY SEVENTEEN HE FORMED A HIP HOP SUPERGROUP CALLED CONCEPTUAL LYRICS IN WHICH HE WENT BY THE PSEUDONYM HALFWIT. IN THE EARLY YEARS OF ZAK’S CAREER HE AND HIS CREW would dominate cyphers at school, house parties and alleyways. together they recorded THREE MIXTAPES and over a hundred freestyles. Zak would spend hours pressing up physical copies of each of these projects and sell them ON THEIR HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS TO STUDENTS AND TEACHERS ALIKE.

FOLLOWING ZAK’S GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL (2012), HE RELEASED HIS FIRST SOLO MIXTAPE TITLED INSANITY ON THE POTATO. during this time zak started performing live both as a solo act and with conceptual lyrics. between 2012-2014 he PERFORMED SHOWS OPENING FOR UNDERGROUND LEGENDS SUCH AS ILL BILL, SICK JACKEN, ANDRE NIKATINA, AND G-MO SKEE. IN 2014 CONCEPTUAL LYRICS PERFORMED THEIR FINAL SHOW as a collective AT the WHISKEY A GO GO OPENING FOR MADCHILD, before going their seperate ways. THUS MARKING THE END OF AN ERA.

Though the disbanding of Conceptual Lyrics led to several doors closing. Zak's persistence would lead him through many new ones. He would continue to perform sporadically, but mainly turned his focus towards acting and his career as a sound tech. HIS PASSION FOR MUSIC AND film GREW EXPONENTIALLY THROUGH EACH OF HIS MANY PROFESSIONAL GIGS ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. WHILE IN ACTING SCHOOL, STUDYING UNDER BRIAN LALLY, ZAK SCORED his first GIG WORKING ON THE SET OF FUTURE WORLD STARRING JAMES FRANCO, METHOD MAN, AND SNOOP DOGG. THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO SOME OF ZAK’S HEROS SET HIS CAREER ON A COURSE THAT COULD NOT BE ALTERED.
IN 2016, HE RELEASED HIS FINAL MIXTAPE UNDER THE PSEUDONYM HALFWIT TITLED SATyRICALLY INACCURATE. not long after zak took a few years to regroup and rebrand entirely. during this time the decision was made to drop the halfwit moniker, in favor of donning the name that his parents had given to him, ZAk MEister. AFTER this HIATUS, in 2019 ZAK RETURNED IN FULL FORCE WITH HIS WEB SERIES ACT ACCORDINGLY WHICH DEBUTED ON VENTURA’S CHANNEL SIX PUBLIC ACCESS TELEVISION STATION. in addition, ZAK embarked as a supporting act on his FIRST west coast TOUR.

TO THIS VERY DAY, IT IS SAID THAT THE MAN, the myth, THE LEGEND “ZAK MEISTER STILL DOES STUFF!” HE IS CONTINUING TO WRITE ORIGINAL MUSIC AND FOLLOW HIS PASSION FOR FILM. most recently he released the Demos & Rejects mixtape, a precursor to his upcoming debut album.
